This is by far my most requested by customers... toddler sizes for my shoes.
So, I've been working on it. Aaaand working on it. And working on it some more. ;)
My very first baby booties were the Baby Ribbon Maryjanes. Remember these?
These are the shoes that started it all. My very first written pattern. ;) I was determined to make a cute pair of shoes for my newborn baby girl, and EVERY bootie pattern I tried, I hated. Most of them turned out looking like boats. And the ones that didn't had double soles, which took A LONG TIME to make. I just KNEW there had to be a better way.
My friends and family watched on facebook as I posted picture after picture after picture of booties. I made booties over and over, again and again. I'd change one little thing, on the next pair, I'd change something else. It is THIS pattern that finally came about after literally HUNDREDS of booties. ;) My poor friend Kim, owner of My Crimson Clover, was crocheting along side me a LOT during that time had to hear me talk about nothing but booties for MONTHS.
It is still my favorite pattern, the one I am most fiercely proud of. So my newborn baby was 3 months old before she had her shoes, LOL, but in the end, they were perfect (for me.)
So of course, I had to write my ribbon maryjanes in toddler sizes before any of my other shoes.
And here we go crochet lovers!!
TODDLER RIBBON MARYJANES!!!
The pattern for these beautiful little shoes was written with my favorite yarn, Caron Simply Soft (click here to go to the Caron Website). The pattern is written in 4 sizes and range from a U.S. toddler size 6 to 11. (fits a 5" to 6.25" foot).
I am super proud of this design. It didn't take quite as long or as much work as my first pattern.... but close to it!
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my patterns, and these little shoes just HAD to fit a little girls foot PERFECTLY. No gaps, they needed to be able to "move" with the foot, and be able to be slipped on and off, as the ribbon secures the strap to the shoe, just like my baby ribbon maryjanes pattern.
My littlest girls, now ages 5, 2, and 1 LOVE these shoes. Lena, my 5 year old calls them her "princess play shoes". ;)
Okay, so now that you've sat through my long blog... you're all wondering how you can get your pattern, right?
Well, it's coming soon. My testers have helped me clean them up, I am working on the final edits, and this pattern will be released no later than October 1st, but may make an appearance much sooner. ;)
You will be able to find the pattern on Ravelry (click here to visit my Ravelry shop), and Etsy (click here to visit my Etsy shop.)
But everyone wants to know how they can get a copy free!!
